Afterward Honesty
From my tool box to yours.
My Mission
Thank you for being here. Afterward Honesty exists to serve those of us impacted by not having the children we wanted.
I’m here to stand beside you as you explore how yoga and its related practices can support your health and wellbeing.
Welcome, I’m Sarah Chamberlin, founder of Afterward Honesty Yoga.
I’m glad you’ve found me.
Life throws many obstacles our way, most of which are recognized by wider society and offer spaces for those affected.
My own journey with involuntary childlessness has been extraordinary and self-impacting, with limited access to others who understand its unique challenges.
Perhaps yours has too?
Experiences like ours affect multiple layers of our being and our bodies matter deeply in that equation.
But before we explore what’s available, how do you know if this is right for you?
Is this a good fit for me?
Please read the scenarios below with gentle kindness for yourself – perhaps they sound familiar.
- Your physical or mental wellbeing has been affected by infertility and/or childlessness.
- You’re looking for a way to proactively care for yourself, but are not sure where or how to start.
- You desire the safety of learning and practicing in an environment designed to hold and protect your unique experiences.
- You’ve found mainstream yoga spaces triggering or difficult due to a lack of understanding and awareness of your situation.
- You wish to cultivate a simple home practice with access to a community of like-minded others.
- You’ve begun to peel the layers of your loss and experience but feel there’s a deeper level of connection with your body to be curated.
- You already have a few tools and resources that have helped but want to add more to your toolbox.
- You’ve been swept up in all-encompassing grief and/or trauma recovery and seek a healthy way to look after yourself while in survival mode.
Please note: yoga and its related practices are not a fix or a circumvention of grief and big emotions evoked by childlessness. They should be used carefully (and sometimes sparingly) during raw phases of grief and trauma recovery.

How can yoga benefit me in my childlessness?
Bodily and contemplative practices have been crucial for me in healing and moving forward.
Potential benefits vary from person to person – we’re all unique and that’s a good thing! Here are some areas to which yoga and its related practices can contribute:
The processing of our somatic experiences
-
A more spacious, compassionate relationship with yourself
-
A means through which to connect with and care for your body
-
Developing tools that can support self-regulation
-
The creation and curation of a safe space to ‘land’ within yourself
-
Development of observation and awareness skills
-
The ability to be present with a wider bandwidth of mind and feeling states
-
A sweeter, more easeful connection to all aspects of self
